LAS VEGAS PRIME DOCUMENT
This semester, our class varies its format in that we must shoot all images with the same "prime" lens. Initially, I found it challenging to avoid the instinct to "zoom" the lens to frame the picture. My lens of choice is the Canon 100m 2.8L macro on my Canon 7D. As before, we visit a different Las Vegas site each week to document what we find with our cameras.

The Arts District
A most colorful area of downtown Las Vegas, the Arts District has an abundancy of galleries, boutiques, antique shops and mural art on buildings and walls. This was a fun area to photograph and I took hundreds of shots. The biggest difficulty was deciding on just ten to put on the class Flickr group. Here are some of the others.

Planet Hollywood, Bellagio, Caesars Palace
The LV Document shoot on Feb 10 took us to Planet Hollywood, Bellagio and Caesar's Palace. I didn't think I would spend much time at PH, but was wrong. I found lots of interesting refections, lighting and textures and didn't leave PH until after noon. Heading for Bellagio, the only shot I got of CP was a distorted reflection in a window on the side of Cosmopolitan. With just a little more than an hour left, I got a few images in Bellagio's lobby and conservatory. Got to go back soon for more.
