LAS VEGAS PRIME DOCUMENT



This semester, our class varies its format in that we must shoot all images with the same "prime" lens. Initially, I found it challenging to avoid the instinct to "zoom" the lens to frame the picture. My lens of choice is the Canon 100m 2.8L macro on my Canon 7D. As before, we visit a different Las Vegas site each week to document what we find with our cameras.

Las Vegas Boulevard - 22 September 2100

Our second outing  took us to Las Vegas Blvd in an area just north of the Stratosphere.  This is a depressed area with many  older motels  which have now closed their doors.  Our assignment for this and the next two weeks is to shoot for black  and  white images.   The  original  captures are in color, but later converted to B&W using postprocessing software.
